Charlestown's 4th Roadside Litter Pick-Up Day

When: Saturday, October 15th

Where: Charlestown Roadways, Parks, and Trails

What: An opportunity to keep Charlestown Clean on October 15th from 8 am to 4 pm

Keep Charlestown Clean (At least for one day)

Unfortunately, roadside litter is a continuous struggle for all communities, and Charlestown is no different. Carless individuals and other types of trash contribute to this unsightly problem.

Most of us regularly pick up roadside litter in our yards or along our streets, putting it in our receptacles. On October 15th, you can bring the refuse to the Charlestown Transfer Station, the two Charlestown Fire Stations, or the Dunns Corner Station.

The Town of Charlestown sponsors this event and provides Blue Trash Bags to collect the roadside litter. You can pick up your blue bags anytime until October 15th at the Town Hall or Compass Hardware.

As always, SAFETY is the top priority on any roadway. ALWAYS be mindful of traffic!

Please wear bright colors, reflective vests, or any other type of highly visible clothing.

Remember that you don’t know what’s in or under the trash on the roadside, so take extra precautions by wearing gloves, pants, and closed-toed shoes.

As much as we want litter cleaned up, we don’t want you hurt.

Grab your family and friends, and let’s get out there and help keep our Town clean!
