Tonight, there will be a special meeting of the Charlestown Town Council to discuss the disbursement of the Federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The Federal government has set up guidelines and requirements for expenditure of the funds and the council meeting tonight will determine how to move forward. As always, it would be preferable to do so in front of a large cross-section of community members in an open and transparent way. Therefore, we invite all citizens of Charlestown to assist the Council, to decide how to use the money; for public health response, assistance to households impacted, assistance to small businesses and non-profits, or aid to impacted industries. Your presence and input would be greatly appreciated to help guide the council in their decision.
