Thursday, April 13: enjoy Superhero Breakfast day at The Hungry Haven restaurant, from 9 - 11 am. Dress up as your favorite superhero, enjoy some of Hungry Haven's fine food, and check out vehicles from Charlestown Police, Charlestown Rescue, and Charlestown Fire. More information here.
Saturday, April 22: Charlestown’s Spring 2023 Roadside Litter Pickup Day. Blue bags can be picked up at two locations, Town Hall (Town Clerk’s Office and the Department of Public Works Office M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm) and at Compass Hardware (8 Ridgewood Road. Monday-Saturday 8am-5pm; Sunday 8am-Noon). Please drop off your bags at either the CRCC or at one of the three fire stations (4377 South Country Trail, 4258 Old Post Road, or 5664 Post Road). If dropping off at a fire station, please leave bags in the rear of the station, near the dumpster. Please do not block the gate of the dumpster area. Saturday, April 22: Eco-Depot hazardous waste disposal day at the Narragansett Beach North Pavilion, 77 Boston Neck Road, from 8 am until noon. More information here. Our wonderful local company, Indie Cycle, will also be there to accept electronic waste. A list of what they take, for recycling, is here.
Saturday, April 22: Deerfoot 5K Run starting at 9 am. A 5k race in Ninigret Park to commemorate the life of Elison "Tarzan" Brown. Registration here.
Saturday, April 22: Following the Deerfoot 5K Run, our Parks and Recreation Department will host a variety of Earthy Day activities at Ninigret Park until 2 pm - details in the image above.
Monday, April 24: the Second Monthly Town Council Meeting at the Charlestown Town Hall in the Council Chambers.
Saturday, April 29: Coastal Ponds Clean-Up Day 9:00 A.M. – Noon to Include the Shores of Both Ninigret and Quonochontaug. Volunteers Are Encouraged to Participate. Garbage Bags, Gloves, and Boat Transportation Will be Provided at Both the Ocean House Marina and Quonochontaug Breachway Parking Lot, with Full Bags to be Dropped Off at the Marina. Saturday, April 29: State Representative Tina Spears will host a Community Meeting from 10:30 am until noon at the Cross Mills Public Library. The focus for her comments will be the state’s budget priorities and there will be an open Q&A session.
Monday, May 1: the Budget Public Hearing Will be held at the Charlestown Town Hall in the Council Chambers.
Wednesday, May 3: For members of Boards, Commissions, and Committees, there will be a workshop concerning the Open Meetings Act, the Ethics Commission, and the Access to Public Records Act at 6:00 P.M. at the Charlestown Town Hall in the Council Chambers.
Thursday, May 4: Food Truck night at Ninigret Park from 5 - 7 pm. (A second event will be on Thursday, June 29.) Facebook users can follow the events here.
